Cowboy Baked Beans
A hearty, flavorful dish perfect as a side or main course!
Ingredients:
• 1 lb ground beef (or smoked sausage, diced)
• 6 slices bacon, cooked & crumbled
• 1 small onion, chopped
• 2 cloves garlic, minced
• 1 can (28 oz) baked beans (like Bush’s Original)
• 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained & rinsed
• 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained & rinsed
• ½ cup BBQ sauce
• ¼ cup ketchup
• ¼ cup brown sugar
• 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
• 1 tsp mustard (yellow or Dijon)
• ½ tsp black pepper
• ½ tsp smoked paprika (optional)
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) (or use a slow cooker).
2. Cook the ground beef – In a skillet, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until the beef is browned. Drain any excess fat.
3. Combine ingredients – In a large bowl, mix together the baked beans, kidney beans, black beans, cooked beef mixture, bacon, BBQ sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, black pepper, and paprika.
4. Bake – Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish and bake uncovered for 45-50 minutes, until thick and bubbly.
• Slow Cooker Option: Cook on LOW for 4-6 hours or HIGH for 2-3 hours.
