Ingredients You’ll Need
Makes 12–16 breadsticks
For the Filling:
- 1 lb thinly sliced ribeye steak (or sirloin), chopped into small pieces
- 1 medium onion , thinly sliced
- 1 red bell pepper , thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper , to taste
- 8 slices provolone cheese , halved (or shredded mozzarella)
For the Dough:
- 1 tube refrigerated pizza dough (or homemade dough)
- ¼ cup unsalted butter , melted 🧈
- 2 cloves garlic , minced
- 1 tsp dried parsley
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Preheat & Prep
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) . Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
Step 2: Cook the Filling
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add sliced onions and bell peppers, and sauté for 5–7 minutes , until softened.
- Push the veggies to one side of the skillet and add the chopped steak. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for 3–5 minutes , breaking up the meat with a spatula, until browned. Mix the steak with the veggies and remove from heat.
Step 3: Roll Out the Dough
- Unroll the pizza dough on a floured surface and stretch it into a rectangle (about 10×14 inches).
- Cut the dough into 12–16 even strips (depending on desired size).
Step 4: Assemble the Breadsticks
- Place a small spoonful of the steak mixture at one end of each dough strip. Top with a piece of provolone cheese.
- Fold the dough over the filling and roll it up tightly, sealing the edges. Place seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
Step 5: Bake
- Bake for 12–15 minutes , until golden brown and cooked through.
Step 6: Make the Garlic Butter Sauce
- In a small bowl, mix melted butter, minced garlic, and parsley.
Step 7: Finish & Serve
- Brush the garlic butter sauce generously over the baked breadsticks while they’re still warm. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella on top if desired. Serve hot with marinara sauce or ranch for dipping.
