Ingredients
For the Ground Beef & Gravy:
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cups (480 ml) beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- ½ tsp paprika
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)
- 2 tbsp butter or oil
- Optional: fresh parsley for garnish
For the Mashed Potatoes:
- 2 lbs (900 g) potatoes, peeled & cubed
- 4 tbsp butter
- ½ cup (120 ml) milk (warm)
- Salt & pepper to taste
👩🍳 Instructions
Mashed Potatoes:
- Boil potatoes in salted water until fork tender (about 15–20 minutes).
- Drain and mash with butter, warm milk, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.
- Keep warm.
Ground Beef & Gravy:
- In a large skillet, heat butter/oil over medium heat.
- Add onions and garlic, sauté until softened.
- Add ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon, and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Sprinkle flour over the beef, stir, and cook for 1–2 minutes.
- Slowly whisk in beef broth until smooth. Add Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Simmer 5–7 minutes, stirring often, until the gravy thickens.
Serve:
- Spoon creamy mashed potatoes onto plates.
- Top with beef and rich gravy.
- Garnish with parsley if desired.
