Ham and Cheese Sticks

Ingredients:

  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough (or pizza dough)
  • 8 slices deli ham
  • 8 sticks mozzarella or cheddar cheese (or 1 cup shredded cheese)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash, optional)
  • 1 tbsp butter (optional, for brushing)
  • Garlic powder or Italian seasoning (optional, for extra flavor)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the dough onto a lightly floured surface. If using crescent roll dough, separate it into 8 triangles. If using pizza dough, cut it into 8 equal rectangles.
  3. Add the filling:
    • Place one slice of ham on each piece of dough.
    • Add one cheese stick (or a generous spoon of shredded cheese) on top of the ham.
  4. Roll it up:
    • Roll the dough around the ham and cheese, sealing the edges well to prevent the cheese from leaking while baking.
  5. Optional:
    • Beat the egg and brush the tops of the rolls for a golden finish.
    • Melt the butter and mix it with garlic powder or Italian seasoning. Brush on top for extra flavor.
  6. Bake for 12–15 minutes or until the rolls are golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Serve warm, perfect as a snack, appetizer, or even lunch!
