📝 Ingredients (makes 12 bites):
- 500g ground beef (or a mix of beef and pork)
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp ketchup (plus more for topping)
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning (or a mix of dried oregano, basil, thyme)
- 12 cubes of cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite melting cheese)
- Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
👩‍🍳 Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F). Lightly grease a muffin tin or mini muffin tin.
- In a small bowl, soak the breadcrumbs in milk for a few minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, soaked breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, egg, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and seasonings. Mix until just combined — don’t overmix!
- Divide the meat mixture into 12 portions. Flatten each one in your hand, place a cheese cube in the center, and wrap the meat around it to form a ball.
- Place each ball into the muffin tin. Top with a small dab of ketchup (optional but delicious).
- Bake for 20–25 minutes or until the meat is cooked through and the tops are slightly browned.
- Let cool slightly, then garnish with chopped parsley if desired. Serve warm and gooey!
🧀 Tips:
- You can make them spicy by adding a pinch of chili flakes or diced jalapeños.
- Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or just as they are with a dipping sauce!
