Instructions:
- Prep your packets:
Cut 4 large pieces of heavy-duty foil (or double layer regular foil). Spray lightly with nonstick cooking spray or brush with a little oil. - Make the patties:
Mix the ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Form 4 equal burger patties. - Assemble:
On each foil square, layer:- A handful of thin potato slices
- A few onion (and bell pepper) slices
- A burger patty on top
- Drizzle with a bit of olive oil
- Season with more salt & pepper if you like
- Seal it up:
Fold foil tightly around everything, making sure it’s sealed well. - Cook:
- Campfire or grill: Place on hot coals or grill over medium heat for 30–35 mins, flipping halfway.
- Oven: Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 35–40 mins, or until potatoes are soft and burgers cooked through.
- Add cheese:
Carefully open the packets, place a slice of cheese on the patty, re-seal loosely, and let sit for a few minutes to melt. - Serve:
Eat straight from the packet or slide onto buns with your favorite toppings!
🌟 Pro Tips:
- Use pre-cooked bacon bits for extra flavor
- Swap potatoes for sweet potatoes
