Ingredients:
For the Casserole:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 cups cooked elbow macaroni
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- ½ cup beef broth
- 1 tbsp mustard
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions:
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) .
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter to prevent sticking.
Step 2: Cook the Beef
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, breaking it into small pieces with a wooden spoon as it cooks.
- Drain any excess fat from the skillet.
Step 3: Combine Ingredients
- Stir in the cooked elbow macaroni , tomato sauce , beef broth , mustard , and chili powder into the skillet with the cooked beef. Mix well until everything is evenly combined.
Step 4: Transfer to Baking Dish
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
Step 5: Bake the Casserole
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes .
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes , or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Step 6: Add Optional Topping
- If desired, sprinkle crushed crackers or crispy onions on top for added crunch before serving.
