Wendy’s Homemade Chili

Ingredients:

• 1 lb (500 g) ground beef

• 1 can (14 oz / 400 g) diced tomatoes

• 1 can (14 oz / 400 g) kidney beans, drained and rinsed

• 1 can (14 oz / 400 g) pinto beans, drained and rinsed

• 1 can (8 oz / 200 g) tomato sauce

• 1/2 can (8 oz / 200 g) tomato paste

• 1 medium onion, chopped

• 1 green bell pepper, chopped

• 2 celery stalks, chopped

• 2 cloves garlic, minced

• 2 cups (500 ml) water

• 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

• 1 tbsp white vinegar

• 1 tbsp chili powder

• 1 tsp ground cumin

• 1 tsp sugar

• 1 tsp salt

• 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions:

1. Brown the beef: In a large pot, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.

2. Sauté the vegetables: Add the onion, bell pepper, celery, and garlic. Cook for about 5 minutes.

3. Add tomatoes and beans: Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, and water.

4. Season: Add Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, chili powder, cumin, sugar, salt, and black pepper.

5. Simmer: Reduce the heat and let it cook covered for at least 1 hour, stirring occasionally.

6. Adjust seasoning and serve hot with shredded cheese, green onions, or crackers.
