Cinnamon rolls recipe

Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for homemade cinnamon rolls:

Ingredients

For the Dough:

•3 ¾ cups (470g) all-purpose flour

•¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar

•2 ¼ tsp (1 packet) instant yeast

•½ tsp salt

•¾ cup (180ml) whole milk, warm

•¼ cup (60ml) water, warm

•3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

•1 large egg

For the Filling:

•⅔ cup (135g) brown sugar

•1 tbsp ground cinnamon

•3 tbsp unsalted butter, softened

For the Glaze:

•1 cup (120g) powdered sugar

•2–3 tbsp milk

•½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

1.Make the Dough:

•In a large bowl, combine warm milk, water, melted butter, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes.

•Add the egg, salt, and 2 cups of flour. Mix until smooth. Gradually add the remaining flour until a soft dough forms.

•Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5–7 minutes or until smooth and elastic. Alternatively, use a stand mixer with a dough hook.

•Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

2.Prepare the Filling:

•In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon.

•Roll out the dough into a rectangle (about 16×10 inches). Spread the softened butter over the dough, leaving a small border. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the top.

3.Shape the Rolls:

•Roll the dough tightly from one long edge to the other. Pinch the seam to seal.

•Cut into 12 even rolls using a sharp knife or floss.

4.Second Rise:

•Place the rolls in a greased 9×13-inch baking pan. Cover and let them rise for 30–45 minutes until puffy.

5.Bake:

•Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for 18–20 minutes or until golden brown.

6.Make the Glaze:

•In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Adjust the consistency with more milk if needed.

7.Serve:

•Drizzle the glaze over the warm rolls. Serve immediately and enjoy!
