Ingredients:
- ¼ cup olive oil
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar or lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2-3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar (optional, for a touch of sweetness)
- 1 teaspoon mustard (optional, for tang)
- Fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme (optional)
Instructions:
- Mix all ingredients in a bowl or a resealable plastic bag.
- Add the steak and make sure it’s fully coated.
- Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, ideally 2–4 hours. For tougher cuts, you can go up to 12 hours.
- Remove the steak from the marinade and pat it dry before cooking. (This ensures a nice sear.)
- Cook on a grill, pan, or oven to your preferred doneness.
💡 Tip: Don’t reuse the marinade as a sauce unless you boil it first to kill any bacteria from raw meat.
