Easy Slow Cooker Fried Apples

 

Ingredients:

6 large tart apples, peeled, cored, and sliced

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/2 cup butter, cut into small pieces

Directions:

Prepare the Apples:

Peel, core, and slice the apples. Place them into the bowl of your slow cooker.

Mix the Sugars and Spices:

In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix well to combine evenly.

Combine in the Slow Cooker:

Sprinkle the sugar mixture over the apples in the slow cooker. Toss the apples to ensure they are evenly coated.

Add the Butter:

Dot the top of the apples with the small pieces of butter.

Cook:

Cover and cook on low for about 4 hours, or until the apples are soft and the sauce is thick and bubbly.

Serve:

Stir the apples gently to coat them well in the sauce before serving.

Serve warm on their own or as a topping for ice cream, pancakes, waffles, or biscuits.
