{"id":4521,"date":"2025-06-14T16:30:31","date_gmt":"2025-06-14T16:30:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/breckas.com\/?p=4521"},"modified":"2025-06-14T16:30:31","modified_gmt":"2025-06-14T16:30:31","slug":"amish-cinnamon-bread","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/breckas.com\/index.php\/2025\/06\/14\/amish-cinnamon-bread\/","title":{"rendered":"AMISH CINNAMON BREAD"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Amish Cinnamon Bread (No Starter Needed)<\/p>\n<p>Ingredients:<\/p>\n<p>For the batter:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 cup (200g) granulated sugar<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened<\/li>\n<li>1 cup (240ml) buttermilk (see substitute below)<\/li>\n<li>2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tsp baking soda<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For the cinnamon sugar swirl:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1\/3 cup (65g) granulated sugar<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp ground cinnamon<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Instructions:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Preheat oven to 175\u00b0C (350\u00b0F). Grease a 9&#215;5-inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.<\/li>\n<li>In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.<\/li>\n<li>Add buttermilk, flour, and baking soda. Mix until just combined \u2013 don\u2019t overmix!<\/li>\n<li>In a small bowl, mix the cinnamon and sugar for the swirl.<\/li>\n<li>Pour half the batter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle half the cinnamon-sugar mix on top.<\/li>\n<li>Add the rest of the batter, then top with remaining cinnamon-sugar.<\/li>\n<li>Use a knife to swirl the cinnamon sugar into the batter (gently, don\u2019t overdo it).<\/li>\n<li>Bake for 45\u201355 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.<\/li>\n<li>Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\ud83e\udd5b Buttermilk Substitute:<\/p>\n<p>If you don\u2019t have buttermilk, mix 1 cup milk + 1 tbsp white vinegar or lemon juice.
