{"id":452,"date":"2023-05-28T10:35:05","date_gmt":"2023-05-28T10:35:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/breckas.com\/?p=452"},"modified":"2023-05-28T10:35:05","modified_gmt":"2023-05-28T10:35:05","slug":"slow-cooker-beef-tips","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/breckas.com\/index.php\/2023\/05\/28\/slow-cooker-beef-tips\/","title":{"rendered":"SLOW Cooker Beef Tips"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Ingredients<\/p>\n<p>1 small onion,<br \/>\nsliced8 oz baby Bella mushrooms, sliced<br \/>\n1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil<br \/>\n1 lb sirloin steak, cut in strips, excess fat trimmed<br \/>\nsalt &amp; pepper<br \/>\n1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce<br \/>\n\u00bc cup dry red wine + splash for deglazing<br \/>\n2-\u00bd cups fat free beef broth<br \/>\n2 tbsp corn starch + \u00bc cup cold water, whisked together<br \/>\nInstructions<\/p>\n<p>Place the onions and mushrooms into the bottom of a 4.5 quart slow cooker.<br \/>\nThen, heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Generously season the steak strips with salt and pepper and add them to the hot skillet, and sear the meat on all sides, about 3 minutes; do not cook through.<br \/>\nPlace the meat into the slow cooker on top of the vegetables.Splash a couple tablespoons of red wine into the hot skillet and scrape the bottom to remove any browned meat bits. Add these to the crock pot.<br \/>\nSeason the beef with pepper a second time and add the Worcestershire sauce, red wine, and beef broth. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours.<br \/>\nUncover and slowly whisk in the cornstarch and water mixture.
