{"id":4465,"date":"2025-06-10T13:28:43","date_gmt":"2025-06-10T13:28:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/breckas.com\/?p=4465"},"modified":"2025-06-10T13:28:43","modified_gmt":"2025-06-10T13:28:43","slug":"4th-of-july-swirl-pie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/breckas.com\/index.php\/2025\/06\/10\/4th-of-july-swirl-pie\/","title":{"rendered":"4th of July Swirl Pie"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>4th of July Swirl Pie<\/p>\n<p>Ingredients:<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-4\">\n<h4>Advertissement<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<p>For the Crust<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 1\u00bc cups graham cracker crumbs (about 10 full sheets)<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 3 tbsp granulated sugar<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 5 tbsp unsalted butter, melted<\/p>\n<p>For the Filling<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 16 oz cream cheese, softened<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 \u00be cup powdered sugar<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 1 tsp vanilla extract<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 1 cup heavy cream, cold<\/p>\n<p>For the Red Swirl<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled &amp; chopped<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 2 tbsp granulated sugar<\/p>\n<p>For the Blue Swirl<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 1 cup fresh blueberries<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 2 tbsp granulated sugar<\/p>\n<p>\u2014<\/p>\n<p>Directions:<\/p>\n<p>1. Make the Crust<\/p>\n<p>Preheat oven to 350\u00b0F.<\/p>\n<p>In a bowl, stir graham crumbs, sugar, and melted butter until evenly moistened.<\/p>\n<p>Press into a 9-inch pie plate, up the sides.<\/p>\n<p>Bake 8\u201310 minutes until golden; cool completely.<\/p>\n<p>2. Prepare Fruit Purees<\/p>\n<p>In a small saucepan, combine strawberries and sugar; cook over medium until soft &amp; syrupy, about 5 minutes. Puree and cool.<\/p>\n<p>Repeat with blueberries and sugar. Puree and cool.<\/p>\n<p>3. Whip the Filling<\/p>\n<p>In a large bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.<\/p>\n<p>In a separate bowl, whip heavy cream to stiff peaks.<\/p>\n<p>Fold whipped cream into cream cheese mixture gently.<\/p>\n<p>4. Assemble the Pie<\/p>\n<p>Spoon one-third of the cream filling into the cooled crust.<\/p>\n<p>Drop spoonfuls of strawberry puree and blueberry puree over filling in alternating dollops.<\/p>\n<p>Top with remaining filling, then more dollops of each puree.<\/p>\n<p>Using a skewer or knife, swirl through the top to create a red-white-blue marble pattern.<\/p>\n<p>5.
