{"id":2345,"date":"2025-01-24T16:26:56","date_gmt":"2025-01-24T16:26:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/breckas.com\/?p=2345"},"modified":"2025-01-24T16:26:56","modified_gmt":"2025-01-24T16:26:56","slug":"million-dollar-lasagna","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/breckas.com\/index.php\/2025\/01\/24\/million-dollar-lasagna\/","title":{"rendered":"Million Dollar Lasagna"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ingredients:<\/p>\n<p>For the Meat Sauce:<\/p>\n<p>1 lb ground beef<\/p>\n<p>1 lb Italian sausage<\/p>\n<p>1 medium onion, diced<\/p>\n<p>3 garlic cloves, minced<\/p>\n<p>1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce<\/p>\n<p>1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes<\/p>\n<p>1 tsp Italian seasoning<\/p>\n<p>Salt and pepper to taste<\/p>\n<p>For the Creamy Cheese Layer:<\/p>\n<p>2 cups ricotta cheese or cottage cheese<\/p>\n<p>1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened<\/p>\n<p>1\/2 cup sour cream<\/p>\n<p>1 large egg<\/p>\n<p>1\/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese<\/p>\n<p>2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided<\/p>\n<p>For the Pasta Layer:<\/p>\n<p>12 lasagna noodles, cooked and drained (or no-boil noodles)<\/p>\n<p>Directions:<\/p>\n<p>Prepare the Meat Sauce:<\/p>\n<p>In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and Italian sausage over medium heat until browned.<\/p>\n<p>Add the diced onion and garlic; saut\u00e9 until softened.<\/p>\n<p>Stir in the marinara sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, and season with salt and pepper.<\/p>\n<p>Simmer the sauce on low heat for 10-15 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Make the Creamy Cheese Mixture:<\/p>\n<p>In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, egg, Parmesan cheese, and 1 cup of mozzarella cheese. Mix until smooth and well combined.<\/p>\n<p>Preheat the Oven:<\/p>\n<p>Preheat your oven to 375\u00b0F (190\u00b0C). Grease a 9&#215;13-inch baking dish.<\/p>\n<p>Assemble the Lasagna:<\/p>\n<p>Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of the baking dish.<\/p>\n<p>Place 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce.<\/p>\n<p>Spread 1\/3 of the creamy cheese mixture over the noodles.<\/p>\n<p>Top with a layer of meat sauce.<\/p>\n<p>Repeat the layers (noodles, cheese mixture, and meat sauce) two more times.<\/p>\n<p>Finish with a final layer of noodles, remaining meat sauce, and top with the remaining 1 cup of mozzarella cheese.<\/p>\n<p>Bake the Lasagna:<\/p>\n<p>Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Remove the foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.<\/p>\n<p>Rest and Serve:<\/p>\n<p>Allow the lasagna to rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing.
