Set it aside.<\/p>\n<p>In a medium bowl, use an electric mixer on medium speed to cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the egg and continue beating for 2-3 minutes until the mixture is fluffy.<\/p>\n<p>In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.<\/p>\n<p>Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter and sugar mixture, mixing on low speed until just combined.
