+Cake:<\/p>\n
\u00b01 cup butter<\/p>\n
\u00b01 cup of water<\/p>\n
\u00b0\u00bc cup cocoa<\/p>\n
\u00b02 cups of sugar<\/p>\n
\u00b02 cups flour<\/p>\n
\u00b0\u215b teaspoon of salt<\/p>\n
\u00b02 eggs<\/p>\n
\u00b01 teaspoon baking soda<\/p>\n
\u00b0\u00bd cup sour cream<\/p>\n
\u00b01 teaspoon vanilla<\/p>\n
\u00b0Frosting (recipe below)<\/p>\n
+Icing:<\/p>\n
\u00b0\u00bd cup of butter<\/p>\n
\u00b0\u00bc cup cocoa<\/p>\n
\u00b0\u00bc cup plus 2 tablespoons milk<\/p>\n
\u00b01 box (1 pound) icing sugar (sift first to remove lumps – otherwise icing will remain lumpy)<\/p>\n
\u00b0\u00bd teaspoon of vanilla<\/p>\n
\u00b0Chopped pecans (optional)<\/p>\n
*How to do it :<\/p>\n
+For the cake:<\/p>\n
In a saucepan, combine butter, water and cocoa over medium heat. heat until the butter melts. Don’t cook too long.<\/p>\n
In another bowl, combine sugar, flour, salt, eggs and baking soda.<\/p>\n
Add the butter mixture to the dry ingredients. Watch out, it’s hot.<\/p>\n
Adding sour cream and vanilla & mix well.<\/p>\n
Pour into a cake pan or jelly roll pan.<\/p>\n
Baking at 350 degrees for 20 mn.<\/p>\n
For the icing:<\/p>\n
In a saucepan, combine the butter, cocoa and milk over medium heat and bring to a boil.<\/p>\n
Immediately remove from the heat and mix with the icing sugar and vanilla.<\/p>\n
Mix well with a blender to remove lumps.<\/p>\n
Spread onto cake sheet while STILL warm.<\/p>\n
You can either stir the chopped pecans into the frosting before pouring it over the hot cake, or sprinkle them on top after you put the frosting on (or omit all together)<\/p>\n
